The Tape Laying Machine (TLM) is designed to lay and compact an appropriate raw, unidirectional composite material from a roll onto the mandrel according to a number of different programmed recipes. All of the recipes are for the components that make up a composite main rotor blade. The TLM will also slit the already laid-up tape on the mandrel with an accumulated tape thickness of up to 20mm.
